Luis Gil is the leader of a new generation of American soccer. A true number 10 – born and bred in the US. At just 18, he’s already passed up an offer to play for one of the world’s biggest clubs in order to stay on home soil and develop his game at a tactical pace. Entering the league as a 16 year old with Real Salt Lake, Luis was already an experienced player featuring for storied youth club Pateadores, a member of the U-17 National Team residency, and playing with the U-17 and U-18 National Teams, including starring at the 2009 U-17 FIFA World Cup. In 2011, Luis earned significant playing time with RSL including scoring his first MLS goal en route to a playoff run. Luis was born in Garden Grove, CA and even though he may seem pretty reserved, he is a big fan of electronic/dance music.
