Kyle Nakazawa

Lucky number 13.  Naka’s made his way around the world from the west to the east – Hawaiian roots, raised in LA and now playing in Philly.  The sport has also taken him to the Netherlands, where he spent his early teens with the Ajax youth system before joining the US National team residency, visiting South America for the ‘05 U-17 World Cup in Peru.  After spending some time in the OC with perennial club powerhouse the Irvine Strikers, Kyle moved on to become an All-American at UCLA…all while enjoying the surf from Newport to Manhattan.  He’s a quick, but powerful attacking midfielder.  Never one to back down from a challenge, Kyle welcomed Manchester United to Philly’s PPL Park by leveling legend Paul Scholes within a minute of taking the pitch.  His physical play definitely doesn’t reflect his style off the field, full of surf stoke and Aloha spirit, you can often catch him playing a ukulele set at his local bar in Chester, PA.

So far, 2012 has been kind to Kyle, with a favorable trade back to his home town of LA.  Behind his fitness training thanks to a little tonsil surgery, Kyle looks to make his debut for the Galaxy soon.
